The mission of Art in the Loop is to contribute to the visual identity & enrichment of Downtown KC. The mission of the Art in the Loop Foundation (AILF) is to contribute to the visual identity, enrichment, and revitalization of Downtown Kansas City, create new opportunities for artistic development, and expand public interaction with new art of excellence. AILF is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging artists in the ongoing revitalization of Downtown Kansas City. AILF seeks to play a proactive role in bringing further attention to Kansas City as a place where exciting and accomplished contemporary art is not just happening but is, in fact, helping to define the city’s identity.

We hope you’ll join us. The opening and kick-off event for Art in the Loop in, around, and along the KC Streetcar line is happening next Thursday, June 5th at 5:30 pm. Location is the @kclibrary - Central Library 14 W 10th St, Kansas City, MO 64105 Enjoy performances from Monarch Duo, traditional dance by Kathak Aura, and a live painting by social practice artist, @oliviamichka Guests are also invited to meet visual and performing artists for a chance to learn more about the work they are creating for this year’s project.

Art in the Loop 2025 will kick-off Thursday, June 5th at 5:30 pm and we’d love nothing more than to see you there. The evening will start with a performance from Monarch Duo, a traditional dance performance by Kathak Aura, and a live painting by social practice artist, Olivia Michka. This event is free and open to the public.
