Microscopic Science, Global Reach: Last month, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences Senior Research Scientist Nicole Poulton (pictured here in the first row, fifth from left) participated in a symposium at the CICESE in Baja California, Mexico. The event was hosted by CICESE and the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry. The symposium assembled marine and aquatic scientists to learn more about cytometry and microscopy. It included workshops on oceanography applications and quality control, as well as a poster session and networking activities. Nicole led sessions on flow cytometry and imaging; viruses, bacteria, and microalgae; and cell sorting, in addition to a FlowCam workshop.
