Lucky Guess: People have been criticizing our first Wordle word for years. “Why are you putting double letters in a first word guess? That’s a waste!” Or, “K is one of the least frequent letters in the alphabet! You’re not doing it right!” But yesterday everything krill-stalized. The tactic finally paid off! Cheers to all our fellow Wordle players Friday who pointed out the relevance of yesterday’s answer to our interests and mission! #wordle #krill #foodweb *Note: These days when satire, jokes, and ironic statements can frequently be misconstrued as facts, particularly on social media, we'll add here that our first word choice isn't actually "krill." It's "ocean." Obviously. (fb)

WRAP on ASLO: Well, last week/weekend was fun! We saw a lot of old friends, met some new ones, brought home some pretty major awards, and celebrated the largest-ever contingent from our lab (thanks to a huge student cohort). Thank you to everyone who came down to share ideas at a time when being together is particularly important. And congrats to all the Bigelowian presenters, particularly the students, who we couldn’t be more proud of! Sydney started as an REU, then became a Sea Change Semester student, and is now an amazing Ph.D. student at Bigelow Laboratory. Andrew was an REU in 2017 and is now doing a postdoc in Hawaii with SRS Nicole Poulton.
