Meet Lori Solomon, Chamber Foundation Board of Directors Lori Solomon brings a rich background in travel and tourism, economic development, and entrepreneurship to the Sullivan County Chamber Foundation Board. For over 10 years, she served as President of Duell Solutions, a property management company in Saratoga Springs, NY, where her leadership oversaw critical areas like finance, payroll, human resources, and sales and marketing. Her commitment to community development was evident during her time as Executive Director for the Feeder Canal Alliance in Glens Falls, NY, where she enhanced membership and increased funding by 20%. As Operations Manager at the Children's Museum at Saratoga, Lori employed strategic marketing initiatives that led to a 50% increase in membership sales and a 45% rise in revenue, showcasing her ability to drive growth engagement. During her tenure, as Director of Marketing and Development for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, she was instrumental in promoting sustainable tourism, collaborating with local, regional, state, and national partners on various projects and grants. She also was part of a team that was responsible for trail development along the Champlain Canal Corridor, was Chair of the Mohawk Valley Pathway to History (under Governor Cuomo), coordinated three major statewide Canalway events, and led a team of NYS agency partners which helped achieve the Erie Canalway Corridor's designation in the National Park Service's Network to Freedom program-the 1st National Heritage Area in the Nation to receive this honor. As the CEO of Van Tourism Solutions, Lori served as a chief consultant. She collaborated with clients such as ILNY and various tour companies/ DMOs across locations, including Kenya, Amsterdam, Texas, upstate New York, and the Fiji Islands Consulate. She has reopened her firm and now works with a global luxury ground transportation company and a new startup- an animal rescue organization. Since relocating to Sullivan County in 2018, Lori embraced her role as Vice President of Travel Trade for the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (2018-2025), where she collaborated with numerous local, regional, statewide, and national partners on projects like Dove Trail and Catskill Cuisine. Her efforts were vital in promoting Sullivan County, while she also contributed significantly to various programs she initiated through her grant writing. In 2019, she and her husband opened Casa Di Longobardi, a restaurant that has evolved into Casa Di Longobardi Café, specializing in Italian imports and catering, with plans to reopen in 2025. Lori's Board experience includes her role as Vice Chair of Canal New York, and held positions on the Schuylerville Chamber Board, Secretary for Skal International, Albany, and the Sullivan Catskills Director of Sales representative for the New York State Destination Marketing Organizations. Lori holds a Master's in Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, SUNY Albany, and a Master's in Destination Management from George Washington University's Business School, DC.
