North Country Association For The Visually Impaired, Inc.
NCAVI provides programs and services that assist visually impaired, legally blind and blind people in extremely rural Northeastern New York State. The service area includes Franklin, Essex, Clinton and St. Lawrence Counties. Orientation and Mobility Instructors and Vision Rehabilitation Therapists help people cope with loss of vision and determine the best course of action for people who are blind to attain or maintain their personal independence. Services include but are not limited to assistance with home making techniques, vocational skills, orientation and mobility, low vision screening clinics, instruction on adaptive equipment, assistance with accessing social services and providing information about low vision. These services are provided free of charge.
