Mssng Lnks addresses the underrepresentation of singers-of-color in musical theater and classical vocal music. Our three-pronged approach provides high-quality music education and performance opportunities to youth considering careers in Vocal Performance; facilitates a multi-directional inter-gration process among students, music organizations and neighborhood communities; and honors our cultural inheritance by advocating for the promotion and performance of vocal music by composers-of-color. As the only out-of-school non-profit organization that directly serves the needs of urban youth interested in pursuing vocal music careers, we provide hands-on educational experiences, mentorship, skill-building and empowerment opportunities culminating in performances that promote the works of Artists-of-Color. Our ultimate goal is to bring to the vocal performing arts the diversity found within our communities.Our target constituents are urban youth-of-color ages 14 – 22 (AIT/Peer Artists). Our programs include 7th Graders (SEE Program) through adults who participate in "And So We Sing."
