Protecting open space and exploring the scenic Greenbelt trails of Long Island one hike at a time. Celebrating 45 Years The LONG ISLAND GREENBELT TRAIL CONFERENCE is a unique nonprofit grassroots organization that has created more than 200 miles of hiking paths on Long Island including three National Recreation Trails. We are dedicated to protecting open space and our scenic Greenbelt trails for all to enjoy. We lead over 200 FREE GUIDED HIKES each year and have donated a total of over 500000 volunteer hours to Long Islands parks and trails.
