June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD) and its impact on individuals and communities. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, an estimated 6.8% of adults in the United States will experience PTSD within their lifetime. While PTSD is often associated with military service, it can affect anyone who has experienced trauma—such as abuse, accidents, or long-term stress. Complex PTSD (CPTSD), which stems from repeated or prolonged trauma, can bring added emotional and relational challenges. PTSD and CPTSD are deeply personal and often misunderstood, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. That is why we are including tailored mental health resources for individuals living with trauma. It is important to ensure that anyone living with PTSD or CPTSD knows that there is support available to them, no matter where they are on their journey. 🔗 Explore the full list here: namimass.org/trauma (fb)

June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month! Pride is a reminder that through unity, we can create a world where everyone feels empowered to embrace their true selves. This a time dedicated to the celebration of queer pride, honoring queer culture and community, and remembering the history that paved the way. Each year, Pride Month falls in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, which was the tipping point of the Gay Liberation Movement. We recognize that LGBTQIA+ individuals may face specific mental health challenges shaped by their lived experiences. That is why we have included mental health resources specifically for the queer community. 👉 Explore the full list: namimass.org/resources-for-the-lgbtq-community Throughout the month, we will also be spotlighting LGBTQIA+ leaders and organizations making a difference in mental health. Stay tuned for more! (fb)
