Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Red Fox Community School for a special field trip focused on their year-long study of animals. The students were eager to visit our Beaver Pond to learn more about the amazing creatures that call it home. We walked the pond in search of signs that beavers live and work there, and we found plenty! From downed trees to a dam and lodge, the evidence was clear. The students even discovered a beaver footprint in the mud, which we were able to cast for further study. We were so impressed with how engaged and knowledgeable the students were, even teaching Smokey House Center staff a few new things along the way!
