Peace Action is dedicated to promoting the non-violent resolution of conflict and the abolition of nuclear weapons. Peace Action of New York State is the New York affiliate of Peace Action, the largest grassroots peace organization in the country. Peace Action Fund of New York State (PAFNYS) is dedicated to promoting the non-violent resolution of conflict, the abolition of nuclear weapons, halting the global spread of conventional arms, building a human rights culture and supporting human needs instead of militarism. We pursue these goals through the production and dissemination of educational materials for the public, activists and policy makers, as well as through community organizing initiatives and public outreach. Since 2012, PAFNYS’ Campus Organizing Program has provided educational resources, leadership opportunities, and mentorship to undergraduate students organizing on campus and in their local communities.

Peace Action New York State News Updates In the wake of the turbulent 202324 academic year during which demonstrations for Gaza erupted across college campuses around the country including at colleges where PAFNYS chapters are currently active the Fall 2024 semester marked a shift in the way that students were organizing around this issue and other critical peace and justice issues we focus on. Although several of the 12 currentlyactive chapters did carry out demonstrations such as rallies and teachins others chose to focus on fundraising as their primary organizing strategy in the Fall semester. BY REX ALEX Along the march I had opportunities to share stories about student activism surrounding Gaza over the course of the Spring semester. Upon hearing the stories of students like myself facing arrests and suspensions the other peace marchers expressed admiration and encouragement.

TOMORROW 10/23, the "Journey to Justice" bus tour will stop in NYC from 10am to 4pm in front of the state office building at 163 W. 125th Street in Manhattan. The event is an opportunity to learn about solitary confinement, hear from formerly-incarcerated people about their experiences, and learn how we can advocate for proper implementation of New York's anti-solitary-confinement laws.
