The Hyland House Museum Our mission is to share Guilford039s rich colonial history and to inspire ongoing stewardship of that legacy. Hyland House Welcome. The Hyland House is an historic house museum named for George Hyland the settler who purchased the land on which it stands in 1657. The twostory saltbox structure was built circa 1713 by Hylands soninlaw Isaac Parmelee.
