Second Chance Animal Center, incorporated in 1959 as the Bennington County Humane Society, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves the needs of homeless animals in southwestern Vermont, northern Massachusetts, and eastern New York. Second Chance Animal Center (SCAC) is dedicated to providing compassionate shelter and adoption services for the animals in our care, improving the lives of companion animals in the communities that we serve via spay/neuter assistance, humane education, advocacy, and humane investigative advice and assistance to law enforcement agencies.Second Chance Animal Center, incorporated in 1959 as the Bennington County Humane Society, has been serving the needs of homeless animals in the tri-state area for over 50 years. We are located on VT Route 7A, at the Shaftsbury/Arlington town line, about halfway between Bennington and Manchester Vermont.

One last reminder that TODAY is our Vaccine & Microchip Clinic at our Arlington facility, 10:00 am until noon. Vaccines are $15 each and microchips are $35 each. All dogs MUST be on a short leash and all cats must be in a carrier.
