Most Valuable Kids of Greater NY

MVK distributes unused sporting & cultural event tickets to 501(c)(3) agencies who support youth from underserved areas of Atlanta. Most Valuable Kids of Greater New York (MVK) focuses on incentivizing achievement and positive behavior to motivate children to repeat that behavior.For over ten years, we have offered hope, motivation and positive reinforcement to at-risk and disadvantaged children in the New York City area through the use of sporting and cultural event experiences as motivational tools to reward and recognize their academic achievement and/or positive social behavior. We source these event experiences from a network of individuals, corporations, suite holders, teams and venues at almost every sporting and event venue in the greater New York City area. To attain the greatest impact, we partner with and support approximately 80 youth social service agencies that have direct daily contact with over 150,000 at-risk youth. We supply these agencies with the event tickets (free of charge) for their use as motivational tools for the children they serve. Given the broad range of needs across these agencies, we do not define “positive behavior" for which children should exhibit to be eligible for rewards. Instead we rely on each agency's unique expertise with the children they serve to achieve the broadest impact with as many children as possible. Rewarding and recognizing positive behavior is a well documented tool to keep children focused, enhance their self-esteem, assist in teaching personal discipline, and to create memories that last a lifetime.
