The mission of the Severn Riverkeeper Program is to protect and restore the Severn River for our families and future generations. Our goal is to reduce pollution, muddy runoff, contamination, and loss of habitat so that the Severn is removed from EPA’s “impaired waterways” list and is once again safe and swimmable.

We are part of the international Waterkeeper Alliance and a founding partner in Waterkeepers Chesapeake. In the last 20years we have brought over 14 Million dollars and 14 major restoration projects to the Severn. We mimic native Severn River ecosystems through holistic naturebased restorations to create a resilient and thriving future for the Severn.
