Drafting & Rural Water Operations with Class 01-2025 Last night (05/28/25), the members of Probie Class 01-2025 took part in their weekly training with an overview of securing alternative water sources and how drafting works. Engine 96 and the members would take a “field trip” to Millwood Fire Station #2 and work with them using Tanker 15. The use of a Portable Pond or “Porta-Tank” was used to give an understanding of what happens where Fire Hydrants are not present. Also the use of Hard Suction that is carried on our engines, how does it exactly all work. Another tool reviewed in the toolboxes of these new members of the OFD. Thanks to Millwood for their assistance in teaching us how they do things and what we would encounter in an extreme water emergency to seek alternative water sources. (fb)

The OFD Junior Corps. continuing their training with last night being conducted with Rescue 14. The topic was the review and usage of Aor Bags for lifting. Members were shown the equipment carried on the Rescue to complete the task and how to correctly and safely use them to free a victim. Any interested young adult in the Village or Town is urged to check it out! This is a great way to see if maybe the Volunteer Fire Service is for you. Start early and build that ground work to be one of the next members of the OFD. We can’t keep this going without these dedicated and motivated members of our community. (fb)
