AMUCA is determined to provide assistance to women in ruralareas in order to create Dominican role models from mother, sisters, aunts andgrandmothers who have the greatest influence on young girls growing up in thesecommunities where resources are limited and cultural pressures are extreme.Through patience and support they learn not only the art of ceramics but theart of self worth. AMUCA also seeks to enlighten others about the situation ofthese women and break down cultural barriers through the visitors’ program.Thus, creating an atmosphere of understanding and friendship.
