CPW’s United Preschool Center (UPC) hosted a celebration today as part of National Autism Acceptance Month. Families and friends joined the UPC students and staff at today's beautiful event which included the unveiling of the Tree of Friendship and Acceptance, a collaborative art project, an outdoor parade in the sunshine, and a performance by our music teach Frank, a musician from Armelle for KIDS. Our beautiful tree on display was designed and created by the students for all to admire. Owls were donated by family and friends to be hung on the tree on display in the UPC lobby. Teacher Donna Hysler led the design and decoration, and students from each classroom customized the owls for the display. The United Preschool Center (UPC) located in White Plains offers an integrated learning experience for children with and without disabilities. Program administrators collaborate with various school districts throughout Westchester County, and UCP is an authorized Universal Full-Day Pre-Kindergarten program site for the White Plains School District. Within a safe, friendly, and nurturing environment, children grow together through integrated programs with activities designed to meet each child’s intellectual, physical and social needs.
