Join us at S. Stephen's, Providence for Lenten Choral Evensong & Benediction on March 23 at 4pm. Choral Evensong often is called the crown jewel of the Anglican liturgical and musical tradition. At just under an hour in length, it's also a great opportunity to introduce friends to S. Stephen's and the beauty of holiness. The Schola Cantorum will sing Herbert Howell's beloved setting of Psalm 42, Like as the hart. The Canticles are the St. Mark's Service of prominent American composer Gerald Near. The service will be preceded by an Organ Recital (repertoire below) at 3:30pm played by Jeremy Bruns, Director of Music at Epiphany, Winchester and sometime organist at Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue, Church of the Advent, Boston, and All Saints, Ashmont. A reception follows.
