The absence of a comprehensive pediatric oncology treatment center in northern Nevada presents an added level of crisis to what is already a financially and emotionally devastating fight for young patients and their families. AKF provides access to an otherwise unavailable, crucial community resource by providing the financial aid necessary for Nevada?s youth and their families to travel to professional medical facilities, where they can receive highly specialized treatment unique to their type of cancer.
