The sudden demise of Michael Sorkin has left a huge void in the architecture community at large. An architect, urbanist, writer, but more importantly a humanist, a mentor and a guide to many, Michael inspired practitioners to use architecture to develop a more socially just and equitable society. His deep awareness and critique of the political and social ramifications of his profession had made him a force to reckon with very early on in his career.
