It is also a directory of nearly 11,000 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Organizations maintain their own home pages and pet data. We are a small no-kill shelter in Boston with a network of loving foster homes, friends, sympathetic veterinarians & feline rescuers, working to reduce the number of homeless cats in our yards and on our streets. We are strictly NO-KILL. We believe that no one has the right to judge (as many shelters do) who deserves their own life. We euthanize only when a veterinarian concludes an animal is terminally ill with no hope. We receive no state, city or federal funding, we are all volunteers who give our time and money for love of the animals. We work "paying" jobs during the day and use many private foster homes, so potential adopters must be screened come by appointment. All adoptions involve an application, vet/personal references, and an adoption donation which helps to support our work.
