We are just TWO WEEKS away from our upcoming virtual Indigo Talk, "Reflections on Religion and Peacebuilding," with Dr. Darren Kew of the University of San Diego! Connected with the theme of Dr. Kew's talk, we have been revisiting our Center founder Daisaku Ikeda's 1993 Harvard lecture, "Mahayana Buddhism and Twenty-first Century Civilization,“ where he explored the role of religion in restoring our humanity: "In an age marked by widespread religious revival, we need always to ask: Does religion make people stronger, or does it weaken them? Does it encourage what is good or what is evil in them? Are they made better and more wise—or less—by religion? These, I believe, are the criteria we must keep firmly in view."
