HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS OF HANCOCK COUNTY PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SERVICES TO THOSE LIVING WITH LIFE-LIMITING ILLNESS THROUGHOUT HANCOCK COUNTY. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES (COMPANIONSHIP AND RESPITE), AND PARTNER WITH MEDICAL HOSPICES AND PALLIATIVE CARE TO SERVE PATIENTS WHO NEED THE ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER SUPPORT. WE ALSO PROVIDE GRIEF SUPPORT THROUGH INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS AND GRIEF GROUPS. WE SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY OVERALL WITH EDUCATION AROUND END-OF-LIFE ISSUES INCLUDING ADVANCE CARE PLANNING. WE ALSO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY WITH FREE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE OUR HOSPICE CHOIR, EVENSONG WHO SING AT THE BEDSIDES OF THOSE NEARING THE END-OF-LIFE. WE HAVE OVER 900 DONORS THAT INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL DONORS, TOWNS, AND BUSINESSES/ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT OUR CAUSE. WE PLAN TO REACH OVER 700 COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN THE UPCOMING YEAR THROUGH ALL OF OUR SERVICES. WE HAVE 88 VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVE ALL AREAS OF HANCOCK COUNTY.
