Students from Mr. Delcourt's "Trees & the Maine Forest" class grabbed shovels and headed outside on Friday to plant three trees, part of the Thornton Academy Community Forest Project. The multi-phase project will bring a variety of indigenous trees that will become part of the campus landscape and provide cooling and shade for generations to come.The students planted a pair of scarlet oaks and an American elm. Thanks to the Saco Parks and Recreation Department for the loan of their tractor/backhoe to assist in planting.
