This week, USP is attending the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva. As a non-state actor in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2017, we’re working to advance availability of quality medicines and strengthening the supply chain. 🤝 WHA is a unique opportunity to engage with governments and leaders from around the world on shared priorities—including the fight against substandard and falsified medicines. At #USPConventionMeeting2025, we are celebrating the Regional Chapters and Convention Sectors that help USP respond to the ever-changing and unpredictable healthcare landscape. Regional Chapters and Convention Sectors have facilitated ongoing and often real-time discussions among Convention Members to inform USP’s response to challenges as they arise. Regional Chapters enhance Convention Members’ abilities to exchange information, experiences, and collaborate with fellow organizations from within shared geographic regions to tackle common regulatory, supply chain, or geopolitical challenges. Sectors devoted to focused areas of discussion—such as generic medicines, biologics, dietary supplements, healthcare sector, excipients and innovation—have worked closely with USP to help address threats to the stability of the medicines supply chain and patient safety. In times of health emergencies, through Sector dialogue, Convention Members offer expertise and perspectives that both enhance and accelerate our solutions. We celebrate these contributions and look forward to our work together over the next five years to achieve our mission of protecting medicine quality, making more medicines available to more people.
