We’re looking forward with excited anticipation to the unveiling of Melinda Wagner’s splendid Dido Redux tomorrow evening at W83. Mindy’s extraordinary, evocative new work for string orchestra and harp contains a gorgeous libretto by Stephanie Fleischmann, and both artists will be in attendance. Soprano Jamie Jordan (pictured above in rehearsal) is something to behold, a true “musician’s musician”! In an earlier post, our reference to Jamie’s vocal approach was based on anecdotal listening. In Dido Redux, you will hear the same stunning clarity and beauty of tone, freely using traditional vibrato…a feast for the ears!
