𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿-𝗦𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Dogs have long been able to detect certain human cancers through scent. Now researchers are asking: Can they do the same for canine cancers. Backed by the AKC Canine Health Foundation, scientists are investigating whether trained dogs can identify hemangiosarcoma by detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in blood, breath, or other samples.
