With Massachusetts moving to drop the MCAS as a graduation requirement, questions have surfaced about how students will stay motivated and prepared for what comes next. At Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, we are stepping up to fill that gap — offering tailored college and career readiness programs that meet youth where they are. Meet AJ Ramirez Mateo, a graduating senior and the Yawkey Club of Roxbury’s 2025 Youth of the Year.  AJ will be heading to Bentley University in the fall, which he credits, in large part, to the years of mentorship, academic support, and personal growth he found at his local Club. From resume workshops to one-on-one advising, BGCB is ensuring Boston’s young people stay focused, supported, and ready to succeed — with or without standardized tests. (fb)
