Kinhaven is a unique summer music school located in the rolling green hills of Weston, Vermont. THE MISSION OF KINHAVEN MUSIC SCHOOL IS TO INSPIRE AND DEVELOP PEOPLE THROUGH THE APPRECIATION AND PRACTICE OF HIGH-LEVEL PARTICIPATORY MUSIC, INCLUDING CHAMBER, ORCHESTRAL, AND CHORAL. OUR VISION IS TO BE A SUSTAINABLE MUSICAL COMMUNITY OPEN YEAR-ROUND TO A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICIANS. KINHAVEN OFFERS JOYOUS AND RIGOROUS MUSIC-MAKING EDUCATION TO ACCOMPLISHED YOUTH AND ADULTS IN A NURTURING, NONCOMPETITIVE, AND COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT. KINHAVEN'S CULTURE REFLECTS ITS STRONG BELIEF IN THE BENEFITS OF SHARED LEARNING, MUTUAL SUPPORT, FRIENDSHIP, COMMUNITY, AND DIVERSITY.

Join us in congratulating Kinhaven percussion faculty John Bannon in his retirement from The Florida Orchestra this year. John concludes his time at TFO following an impressive spread of 41 seasons - percussionist ‘73-‘78, timpanist since ‘88. At Kinhaven, John has been an iconic educator, inspiring students every summer since 2006.
