Community Foundation of West Georgia
The Community Foundation of West Georgia exists to unleash the potential of our region. The Community Foundation of West Georgia partners with local non-profit organizations, individuals and companies, to increase opportunities to serve those in need, to beautify and to enhance the quality of life for the people of Carroll, Haralson and Heard Counties. The Foundation increases the total pool of philanthropic resources available for charitable activity in the West Georgia region. The Foundation strengthens the self-sufficiency of the nonprofit sector and serves as a resource and a catalyst for charitable activities and organizations. Local organizations apply for grants to support programs that serve the community in one of six areas: education, human services, environmental improvement, medical and hospice care, art and cultural activities, and economic development.

Community Impact in Action: Carrollton Writer’s Guild With support from a Community Impact Grant, the Carrollton Writers Guild hosted its annual BookFest, a celebration of the written and spoken word designed to uplift aspiring authors and spark engagement with regional literature. Grant funds helped cover honorariums for featured authors and workshop leaders. The response from both attendees and presenters was overwhelmingly positive—workshops, panel conversations, and the event setup were all praised as outstanding.

Community Impact in Action: Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum Thanks to a 2024 Community Impact Grant, the Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum (SQTM) has expanded its reach and welcomed more visitors than ever before. From December 2024 to May 2025, SQTM engaged 2,230 people—a significant increase from just 900 two years ago. Even more exciting: 40% of these visitors were from Carroll, Haralson, or Heard counties.
