Niagara County Historical Society Incorporated
The History Center preserves and promotes the history of Niagara County and the Erie Canal through a variety of sources including in-house, outreach, and interactive programming. Through educational programs and exhibit interpretation, visitors gain knowledge of how Niagara County and the Erie Canal contributed to making New York the Empire State. § The History Center successfully owns and operates a heritage campus of five buildings and two auxiliary sites. § The History Center provides multi-media programs, written publications, and museum tours that enhance the educational opportunities for school children, local residents, and visitors.§ The History Center maintains an archive and artifact collection relating to Niagara County in order to preserve valuable items from our past and to make the collection available to researchers.§ The History Center works cooperatively with other museums, civic groups, educational institutions, and local government to accomplish its goals.
