A patient at Cobleskill Regional Hospital who was transferred to Bassett Medical Center for some of her care sent a lovely letter thanking the clinicians, nurses, and other team members who she interacted with during her time as an inpatient. She gave us permission to share her thoughts here. Carol Makowski writes: "I want you to know that I appreciate each and every one of you... where else does staff respond with medication quickly, as needed, as well as always being willing to plug in and charge my MP3 player, not to mention always making sure I had water to drink and every other need met. I'll always be thankful to the CMA who washed my hair when it was such a mess." "The last evening, I was petrified of the ambulance ride to Cooperstown because of my back pain and history of getting sick in the ambulance. But you know what? My nurse came up with three mint Lifesavers that were indeed life savers because I spaced them out during the ride and did not get sick!" "I looked forward to seeing the housekeeper because she always had a pleasant greeting and a happy tune she was singing... and I swear, I thought I was in a Michelin restaurant when the staff from food services gave me a list of menu options for the next day's meal...plus I was blown away when each of the doctors sat down and talked with me about what was happening and what was planned."
