Tucked away in the woods at Glynwood is a little-known structure: the Writer’s Cabin, known to some as “the Shack.” It was built by George Perkins III, whose family purchased the land in 1929 that decades later would become Glynwood. The cabin was meant to be a space where George would write a biography of his father. The book was never finished, but the structure remains. Though it’s not open to the public, we love that this hidden corner of the property continues to spark curiosity and connect us to Glynwood’s layered history.
