Riverside Research champions academic success and innovation. By fostering a workplace that supports academic growth, we enhance national security and advance our mission to apply research in solving crucial intelligence challenges. We proudly highlight the published achievements of our employees. In a 2023 paper entitled “Providing Predictions of Adversary Movements in a Gridworld Environment to a Human-Machine Team,” authors Jeffry A. Coady, Paul Dysart, Aidan Schumann, Stephan A. Koehler, Michael J. Munje, William Casebeer, and David M. Huberdeau explore how knowing the future states of an adversary in an adversary-avoidance game can impart a survival advantage. To assess how predictive modeling helps agents achieve goals and avoid adversaries, we tested the efficacy of three predictive algorithms within a gridworld-based game. They investigated the efficacy of two additional predictive algorithms and present a maritime vessel pursuit scenario. Read their paper, published in SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing 2023 - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Multi-Domain Operations Applications V, here: https://www.riversideresearch.org/insights/academic-papers/providing-predictions-of-adversary-movements-in-a-gridworld-environment-to-a-human-machine-team #RiversideResearchPublications #HumanMachineTeaming #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #MindModeling #CognitiveModeling (fb)

Riverside Research is a proud sponsor of the Beavercreek #Robotics Club and play a role in encouraging students’ ongoing love of STEM. Student members of the club compete in middle and high school-level competitions. Recently, two of the club’s middle school teams won awards qualifying them for the Worlds Championship, which takes place in May. The team known as The Fab Five won the Design Award and the Robo Reapers won the Think Award. At the high school level, the club sent ten teams to the state championship. Three of the teams qualified for the Worlds Championship and those teams also earned five awards. Team Aftershock, tournament semifinalists, won the Build Award, Meltdown received the Design Award, and Apex took home a Judges award. Time to Swine claimed the Innovate Award. The Beavercreek Robotics Club also enjoyed a fun and educational visit to our Beavercreek, OH, office. There, we held a technical exchange in which Riverside Research scientists and engineers were able to learn more about the robotics program and the work these students are doing. Our scientists and engineers shared more on the work we do through tours of our cyber lab, machine learning research, plasma-physics lab, machine shop, and #optics lab. This provided the students with a glimpse of what a career in STEM research looks like. #STEMEducation #WeAreRiversideResearch #Robotics (fb)
