The American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) The ASJA Charitable Trust is the charitable and educational arm of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the professional association of independent nonfiction writers. Through programs like the ASJA Educational Foundation, endowed prizes for writing excellence, and the Writers Emergency Assistance Fund, the Trust helps independent nonfiction writers at all stages of their careers.
