Performing since 1914, we're the oldest underclassman a cappella group in the world. The Spizzwinks of Yale University, Inc. is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes that qualify as exempt purposes under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code and shall include the following activities: a) to promote public appreciation of group harmony singing and to educate students at Yale University of New Haven, Connecticut ("Yale"); b) to train and instruct students at Yale with a demonstrated vocal ability in the art of a cappella group harmony singing; c) to provide students at Yale with an opportunity to compose and/or arrange their own musical performances; d) to provide members of the general public and students at Yale, other colleges, public high schools, preparatory schools, and other educational institutions with an opportunity to hear the performance, and gain an appreciation, of group harmony singing; e) to cooperate with other music-oriented non-profit organizations.

Our first stop on Summer Tour brought us to the South of Chicago for Xari Carbins’ Hometown Tour. From a performance on the nationally televised WGN-TV to hanging out with the Carbins family, Chicago was a phenomenal way to kick off the summer. Other highlights included a stop at Southland College Prep (Xari’s alma mater), exploring downtown, game night, and CS majors discovering the outdoors for the first time since Winter Break.

The Spizzwinks of Yale University Inc
Our final stop (heartbreaking, I know) on Summer Tour brought us to Amsterdam🇳🇱. We traversed the canals and alleyways, ate enormous amounts of free cheese samples, had a potentially ill-fated bouldering outing, and experienced a third consecutive robust public transportation system—a unique feature of Europe compared to domestic tours. Local friends of the group hosted us for a couple fun afternoons and delicious food, and day trips to Ghent and Antwerp provided a Belgian flair (and lots of chocolate)🇧🇪.
