Adorned with stunning polychrome tile and mosaic panels from Safavid-era Isfahan, these vibrant ceramic works once clad both religious and secular buildings during Iran’s Safavid period (1501–1722 CE). Some of the earliest pieces in the Shangri La collection, Doris had these installed in 1938 during the original construction. They reflect a rich history in which Safavid-style tiles adorned everything from private residences to Armenian Christian churches.
