April is #ChildAbusePreventionMonth. Together we can prevent, reduce, and end child abuse. Learn to recognize the signs, locate and share resources, and build protective factors. The Office of Children and Family Services is a helpful resource. Its Protective Factors calendar serves as a reminder of ways we all can build stronger families and help end abuse and neglect. A downloadable calendar is available in English, Spanish and Chinese on their website https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/prevention/. #PreventChildAbuse #WGAforChildren #CareFirst (fb)

Congratulations to Matthew Woodworth, aka Woody, on receiving the Employee of the Month award for March! Two colleagues nominated Mr. Woodworth for his enthusiastic spirit and ability to uplift the people around him. He's been proactive in building relationships between the Farm he supervises and other programs and departments on campus so that youth can access all available services and amenities. Under his care, the Farm has expanded to include walking trails and additional services that individual residents and cottages can benefit from. People are inspired by his commitment and determination. Thank you, Woody, for your dedication to the Agency and the youth we serve! #WGAforChildren #CareFirst (fb)

Who We Are A Holistic Approach Careeers A LIVINGLEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT PUTS care first A special message from our Executive Director With deep sadness we share the passing of Tom Finn a longserving and deeply dedicated member of the WGA family. Toms connection to WGA formerly The George Junior Republic was deeply personal. He was a former resident of our program who went on to build a successful career in banking demonstrating the resilience and determination that defined his life. Tom also served on the WGA Board of Directors for decades and for many years on the Board of Directors of the GJR Union Free School District.
