Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan endeavors to improve conditions of any animal in need and help to facilitate their adoption to qualified, permanent homes. Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan is the first stray dog prison program in the state of Michigan. All our dogs are in foster homes before they enter training for 10 weeks. After graduating with manners the dogs go to their forever homes. It is the mission of Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan to help abandoned, surrendered and homeless animals. We are purpose driven with a moral obligation to maintain or restore a healthy quality of life by providing rescue and placing them in an approved, suitable and safe foster or forever homes by legal means. Along with educating the general public about rescue programs, responsible dog ownership, and pet overpopulation.

REFURBISHED PETS OF SOUTHERN MICHIGAN – Going Beyond Rescue GOING BEYOND RESCUE At Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan we partner with regional animal shelters and Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater Michigan to help dogs reach their maximum potential and find loving forever families. Our carefully screened dogs are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before entering their 10 week program with specially trained inmates who are fully responsible for their daily training and care. When the dogs graduate training they are ready to receive a canine good citizen certificate CGC and are available for adoption into an approved home. RPSM does not have a dog rescue facility as we utilize foster homes to care for most of the dogs that enter our program.
