HMEA's mission is to fulfill people's natural needs for independence, respect, productive employment, and civic involvement. We affirm and promote the values dreams and potential of people with developmental disabilities through education, support and life long experiences.Recognized statewide as a service innovator, the agency is known as a pioneer of supported employment services for individuals with disabilities and a leader in resource and referral service to families with autistic children HMEA manages and supports 25 residential homes and nine employment and day ,habilitation programs throughout the state. HMEA provides services to over 3000 people in 110 communities in central and southeastern Massachusetts some of whom have spent the better part of their lives in state institutions
