🌍 Menstrual Hygiene Day | May 28 🌸 Today, we stand with girls everywhere to break the silence around menstruation and promote dignity, health, and equal opportunity. Across Africa, 1 in 10 girls miss school during their periods due to lack of access to menstrual products, leading to significant learning gaps and higher dropout rates (UNESCO). In honor of #MenstrualHygieneDay, we had the pleasure of partnering with The Chosen Pads, an NPO that donates high-quality, reusable, washable pads to school-going girls to help end period poverty. Together, we donated 120 reusable pad kits to girls at Motaung Junior Secondary School in Botswana, a remote and underserved community. These kits go beyond basic needs. Earlier this month, our Executive Director Hannah Laufer-Hoffman, along with Palms for Life staff members in Namibia, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Vice President for an introductory meeting with Vice President Honourable Lucia Witbooi. Vice President Witbooi expressed her excitement to collaborate with Palms for Life through Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers. Passionate about education, she emphasized that early childhood education lays the strongest foundation for a child’s future. She commended Palms for Life’s work in Namibia, noting that it equips children for a brighter future and helps ensure they stay in school.
