We've been speaking to many rescue and shelter workers in the States who are completely overwhelmed by the intake of so many wonderful animals. The animals are emotionally suffering because they are losing their homes, and workers/volunteers are emotionally struggling to provide care, love, and a home-like environment. Animals attach to their owners and homes just as we do. They suffer anxiety and depression just as we do. We can all help by simply talking more about animal emotions and needs. Knowledge is power. People need to take accountability for their pet/s emotions and stop depending on shelters and rescues to take the brunt. AND as always, sharing sterilization information is vital to curb overpopulation. Thanks to all of you who take amazing care of your pet/s. They may not be able to say they are grateful, but they are grateful for the stability, love, and care you provide. (fb)
