The Catskill Watershed Corporation is a Local Development Corporation established to protect water quality in the NYC Watershed West of the Hudson River; to preserve and support Watershed communities; and to strengthen the region’s economy. THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO ADMINISTER WATER- SHED PROTECTION AND PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE THE WATER QUALITY IN THE WEST OF HUDSON WATERSHED AND TO MAKE DECISIONS ON FUNDING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SUCH PROGRAMS.

The Catskill Watershed Corporation CWC is a locally based and locally staffed nonprofit Local Development Corporation responsible for several environmental protection economic development and education programs in the New York City Watershed West of the Hudson River. CWCs dual mission is to preserve and strengthen the regions economy as well as to administer a host of Watershed Protection Programs to protect the water supply for half the population of the state of New York. 90 of New York Citys water supply is unfiltered from the West of Hudson Watershed.
