Providing Advocacy, Peer Support Services and Education in Tompkins County since 1954 The Mental Health Association in Tompkins County (MHATC) is committed to developing and supporting the active involvement of ordinary people (including providers, family members and recipients of mental health services) in all aspects of mental health. These include the definition of needs, the promotion of community, and the provision of services. We also support the human and civil rights of people who use mental health services, and will educate the community on all perspectives concerning mental health and mental health disabilities

Drawing on both lived experience and professional training we provide peer support advocacy and services that promote mental health recovery and prevent mental illness. Our mission is to end the stigma surrounding mental health through open conversations and education. All of our peer support services are offered free of charge to the Tompkins County community reflecting our commitment to accessible care for all.
