FOSTERS POND CORPORATION
The Foster's Pond Corporation is the only organization whose sole purpose is protecting Foster's Pond, a 120-acre "Great Pond" owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The FPC owns and maintains the 165-year-old earthen dam which impounds the pond and also serves as a public gateway for exploring the pond's environmental riches. The FPC educates abutters, visitors and the general public on sound lake management practices; seeks to avert or mitigate the effects of development on the pond's fragile ecosystem; undertakes programs to eliminate invasive weeds and other environmental threats; conserves undeveloped land around the Pond; provides convenient public access to this treasured resource; and seeks to build a supportive community among residents and vistors.
