When Mama Fido says “Rachael don’t let that dog die,” you start texting and emailing as fast as you can to find a foster, get into the vet and get the dog the hell out of the pound. Kiwi 🥝 was found as a stray looking like one of the worst matting cases we have ever seen. After 3 hours of excruciating shaving (which kiwi handled like a champ), shelter workers thought she would be up and on her way out to a new home. Until she starting losing weight even though she was eating a ton. After bloodwork and vet visits, it was determined poor kiwi is diabetic. Her levels have not been regulated and she needs immediate care that the place she is at cannot give her. Her options were rescue or death. Well Fido’s couldn’t let that happen. Meet Crawford! Crawford is a 2 year old, 75 pound hound who is fully vetted, crate and potty trained! Crawford came to us from an overcrowded shelter that needed to make space.
