Our Earn-A-Bike group had an awesome visit with a few officers from the Danbury Police Bike Unit! The officers shared important tips on bike safety, and the young people had a great time asking questions about what it's like to work in law enforcement. We had some good conversations about the DPD Cadet Program — all of our students showed real interest, especially after sharing stories about family members who had been part of it. One student proudly spoke about his experience in a Marine Corps program in New Haven, where he quickly rose through the ranks. The GALs group got creative again and made handmade soap together, an activity they truly enjoyed! While crafting, they also had a meaningful conversation about how having a hobby can be a powerful way to relieve stress and take care of their mental health. 🌿 (fb)
