Brockton students help open doors—in the Netherlands! 🇳🇱🐟 Each spring, thousands of fish swim through Utrecht’s canals to reach their spawning grounds. But one key lock gate can only be opened manually. Enter: the Fish Doorbell - a virtual livestream where anyone can ring the bell to alert the lock keeper when fish are waiting to pass safely. At our Brockton Tutoring Site, students logged in, watched the cam, and rang the bell, helping fish on their journey and learning how digital tools can drive real-world change. “Digital literacy is an important concept for students,” said Education Director Jonathan Vincent. “This was a responsible and engaging use of tech and a great example of how global connection works.” The students were hooked. 🐠 Got a creative idea for learning?
