We organize as workers, from all backgrounds and walks of life, against sweatshop conditions like long hours and for control of our lives. We organize as workers -- native-born and immigrant; documented and undocumented; from all backgrounds and walks of life -- against sweatshop conditions like long hours and for control of our lives. Join us! http://www.nmass.org National Mobilization Against Sweatshops is a multi-trade, multi-racial workers center bringing together working people--immigrant and citizen--to stand up against exploitation where we work, where we live. We organize to address health, housing, environmental justice, & discriminatory displacement. NMASS united workers injured on the job and those made sick by the 9/11 toxic fallout to demand health care; Lower East Side/Chinatown community members to stop displacement and call for healthy homes & community. Members are Garifuna, Latino, indigenous, Puerto Rican, Black, white & Asian-American workers working in home care, restaurants, construction, nail salons, retail, offices; and as full-time grandmothers and students. While most members live/work in NY, our work has national impact.
