The concept of codependency has certainly been a cottage industry over the years, but it can be demeaning and stigmatizing for so many people who care about someone with a substance use disorder. So much of the idea of "tough love" is not just punitive, but incredibly difficult to follow through on. We seek to expose you to a different way of thinking which helps to empower and celebrate one's desire to help their loved one avoid harm, focusing not on an implied pathology but on simple behavior change.
