About the organization

Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The library freely serves the communities and citizens of Wilton Dryden East Wilton and East Dixfield and welcomes membership to residents beyond this service area for a nominal yearly fee. The library was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association and found a permanent home in 1914 at 6 Goodspeed Street. Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton the library remains a private nonprofit corporation.
